Roak LLC ("Roak") · Houston, Texas · Last updated October 19, 2026
This is the agreement you accept when you check the box on the Mixed By Roak submission form. It covers the song you submitted. It only kicks in if Roak picks your song and you send the multitracks. If your song isn't picked, nothing here applies to it.
1. The deal in one paragraph
You send Roak the multitracks for your song. Roak mixes and masters it live on a public stream (Twitch, YouTube, and any other platform Roak uses), usually over two or three streams, and delivers the finished master to you. You pay nothing. Roak gets the content: the live streams, the recordings (VODs), and clips. You get the finished song, the credit, a spot on a Roak-promoted playlist once your song is released, and the right to use the recordings and clips too.
2. Who owns what you send (your promises)
- You own or control the master recording and the composition (music and lyrics), or you have written permission from everyone who does, to grant everything in this agreement. That includes every co-writer, co-producer, featured artist, and performer on the stems.
- No uncleared samples, loops, or interpolations of anyone else's work, except licensed sounds you have the right to use this way. Tell Roak about any samples before the first stream.
- No deal blocks this. No label, publisher, distributor, administrator, or manager has exclusive rights that stop you from granting this. If one does, you've gotten their written OK and sent it to Roak.
- Everything you've told Roak in the submission (writers, release status, ownership) is true. If something changes, you'll tell Roak right away.
- You're 18 or older and have the authority to agree. If you're agreeing for a band or company, you're authorized to bind it. Under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree for you; email Roak before you submit.
3. What you're allowing Roak to do
- Copy, edit, process, mix, and master your stems and make versions of the song as part of the work (including rough, partial, alternate, and unfinished versions).
- Play your song and stems publicly, live, on stream, and show the session, lyrics, and artwork on screen.
- Record the sessions and keep, publish, and monetize the recordings as VODs, and cut them into clips, shorts, reels, and excerpts of any length for any Roak channel, account, website, or ad, now or later. This includes putting your song in sync with that video.
- Use your name, artist name, likeness, voice, song title, artwork, and approved bio in the streams, VODs, clips, the schedule, and posts promoting them, the playlist, and Roak's mixing services.
- Use the finished mix and before/after excerpts in Roak's portfolio and promotion.
- All of this is non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and permanent (except as Section 10 says), and Roak can let platforms and editors do what they need to carry it out.
4. What Roak is NOT getting
- No ownership of your song, your master, or your composition. Roak gives you any rights it may have in the finished mix recording. Roak keeps only the rights in Section 3.
- No exclusivity. You can release, pitch, sell, or remix your song with anyone.
- Roak won't sell your song, distribute it to stores or DSPs, or register it with Content ID or any royalty system as Roak's.
- Roak keeps its own session files, plugin settings, templates, and footage. You get the delivered audio, not the session.
5. Picking songs and the schedule
- Sending a song doesn't mean it gets picked. Roak picks songs at its sole discretion and doesn't owe a reason.
- Roak sets and can change the schedule. Delays happen. Paying to skip the line, if offered, is a separate written deal.
- Roak can stop or drop a project at any time (for example, unusable stems, a rights problem, or conduct). If that happens, no one owes anyone money, and Roak can keep what was already streamed.
6. The mix, the revision, and delivery
- Roak delivers one final stereo master (24-bit WAV, 48 kHz unless you ask otherwise) within 14 days after the last stream. Extras (instrumental, clean version, stems) only if Roak agrees.
- One revision pass. You send your notes before the next stream; Roak makes the changes on air at the top of that stream. Further changes are at Roak's discretion or a separate paid deal.
- Hardware prints are final. A mix printed through analog gear can't be exactly recalled. After the revision pass, a hardware mix is committed. If you want unlimited recall, choose a digital mix on the form.
- Mixing is a creative call. Roak doesn't promise any particular sound, loudness, streams, playlist adds, or results. You don't have to release the mix if you don't like it.
- Keep your own backups. Roak isn't responsible for lost files. Roak can delete your stems 90 days after delivery.
7. Credit
- If you release Roak's mix, credit it as "Mixed By Roak" (and "Mastered By Roak") in your distributor metadata, Spotify credits, and liner notes where the platform allows, and in the release posts where reasonable. If it's missed, you'll fix it within 30 days of Roak asking, where the platform allows.
- If you materially change the mix (re-master, re-mix, edits), tell Roak; Roak can ask that the credit be changed or removed.
- You can say Roak mixed it, and use Roak's name in promoting the song. Don't imply Roak endorses anything else.
8. The playlist
- Once your Roak mix is released and live on Spotify, Roak will add it to a playlist Roak promotes. Right now that's Dark Alternative 2026. When there are enough Mixed By Roak songs, they may move to a dedicated Mixed By Roak playlist.
- How long it stays is Roak's call. Roak decides which playlist, the placement, the order, and how long your song stays on it. There's no minimum time. Roak can move it, change its position, or take it off at any time, for any reason or no reason.
- Ads are Roak's call too. Roak decides whether to run ads, how much to spend, and when to stop. Roak doesn't promise any amount of ad spend, streams, listeners, or results.
- Removing or moving your song, or changing or stopping ads, isn't a breach of this agreement and doesn't give you any claim against Roak.
- You can ask for removal and Roak will remove it within 7 days.
- No bots. Neither side will use or buy artificial streams.
9. Your use of the stream footage
- You can download, post, and share the VODs and clips (and cut your own) to promote you and your song, on your own channels, including monetized ones.
- Don't sell the footage by itself, edit it to make Roak look bad or say something it didn't, or use it to advertise someone else's mixing service. Tag or credit Roak where the platform allows.
10. Platform claims and takedowns (important)
- You won't claim, strike, or take down Roak's streams, VODs, or clips of your song, and you won't let anyone acting for you do it. That includes Content ID, Twitch/DMCA notices, and distributor "YouTube monetization" tools.
- If your song is or becomes registered with Content ID or similar (often automatic through your distributor), you'll whitelist Roak's channels or release the claim within 7 days of Roak asking. If a claim or strike lands anyway, you'll help Roak clear it, and Roak can show this agreement to the platform.
- Changing your mind: you can withdraw any time before the first stream by emailing Roak. During a live stream you can ask Roak to stop, and Roak will stop playing the song. After the first stream, the rights in Section 3 stay in place for what was streamed. Roak will remove content only if (a) a court or valid legal demand requires it, or (b) you show Roak that a real rights holder you didn't know about is objecting. In case (b), Roak can stop the project and doesn't owe delivery or playlist placement.
11. Unreleased songs
- Your song will be heard publicly in full and in pieces before your release date. Roak can't control what viewers record.
- Roak won't release the full finished mix as standalone audio, or share your stems or session files with anyone, without your OK. If you ask in writing before the first stream, Roak will hold back the full final playback until your release date.
12. Commentary
Roak and chat will talk honestly about your song, stems, and mix on air, good and bad. That's the show. You agree that honest opinions on stream aren't a claim against Roak.
13. Money
No fee is charged and nothing is owed to you. Neither side owes the other any royalty, points, or share of revenue from the song, the streams, the VODs, the clips, or the playlist.
14. Legal boilerplate
- Indemnity. If any of your promises in Section 2 or 10 is untrue or broken, you'll cover Roak's losses and reasonable legal costs from third-party claims, strikes, or lost channels that result.
- Limit of liability. Roak's total liability under this agreement is capped at $100. Neither side is liable for lost profits or indirect damages. The work is provided as is.
- Independent parties. This isn't employment, partnership, or a work for hire.
- How you agree. Checking the agreement box on the submission form and submitting it is your electronic signature. Roak keeps a timestamped record of each submission. Electronic signatures count as originals (federal ESIGN Act; Texas UETA, Bus. & Com. Code ch. 322).
- Texas law applies. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Harris County, Texas.
- Whole agreement. This is the full deal for this song and replaces anything said before. Changes must be in writing agreed by both sides (email counts). If one part is unenforceable, the rest stays. Sections 2–4, 7, 9–14 survive the project ending. Roak can transfer this agreement to a company it owns or controls. Roak may update this page for future submissions; the version live when you submitted is the one that applies to your song.
